David Walters on the U.S. Left Opposition Digitization Project

The Marxists Internet Archive’s USA History Publications Section as part of joint project involving the Holt Labor Library, the Encyclopedia of the Trotskyism On-Line and the Riazinov Library, the U.S. Left Opposition Digitization Project has now completed the digitization, uploading and linking of the early press of the Communist League of America (1928-1934), Workers Party of the U.S. (1935-1936), the Trotskyist tendency inside the Socialist Party of America (1936-1937) and the Socialist Workers Party (1938-1946) with the following uploads of high-resolution PDF scans of the following periodicals. These are complete runs, in some cases amounting to over 52 issues a year:

New Militant: 1934-1935
Socialist Appeal: 1936-1941
The Militant: 1941-1946

Additionally, and most recently, we started placing online the internal discussion bulletins of the early Trotskyist movement in the United States organized as the Communist League of America (Opposition)1928-1934 and then the Workers Party of the United States (1935-1936). These are the first of the entirety of the internal bulletins of the US Trotskyists through the early years of the Socialist Workers Party. Presented in high resolution PDFs.

    they recently have also uploaded The Militant up to 1949 … and additionally also the Workers Vanguard from 1971 to 1990
